LENNAR URBAN makes donation to State Champions Brown Bombers Youth Football team

Bayview-Hunters Point Team Headed to Florida for Pop Warner Championship Series

Lennar Urban has made a $2,000 donation to the San Francisco Brown Bombers winning football team, enabling the Pee Wee squad to travel to Orlando , Florida for a championship Pop Warner Super Bowl division playoff.

The Brown Bombers will fly to Florida this week to begin playing in the championship series on December 2. This season, the Brown Bombers won a statewide championship in the Pee Wee division.

"We are incredibly grateful to Lennar for this much-needed donation," said Fulton Mitchell, coach of the Pee Wee team. "This will get our team to Florida and the playoffs and keep our kids in the hunt for a national championship trophy."

The San Francisco Brown Bombers were created in 1999 with the mission of providing San Francisco youth with a safe, supervised football program. During its first season, the Brown Bombers earned First Team National Scholastic All-American honors, beating out 300,000 other students nationwide. The Brown Bombers operates with the help of strong community and parent support.

During the second season, the Brown Bombers’ Midgets football team was crowned Division II champions of the Redwood Empire Jr. Football Conference with a regular season record of 7-1. They also set numerous REJFC scoring and defensive records and also became the first team from REJFC to win the Pacific Northwest Regional Championship, which includes Oregon , Nevada , Idaho , Washington and Alaska , earning a spot in the Pop Warner National "Super Bowl" Championship game.
