SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco Redevelopment Agency selected EIP Associates/PBSJ to prepare an environmental-impact report for the redevelopment of Candlestick Point and Hunters Point Shipyard.
An impact report was called for after Lennar's proposal to build homes at Candlestick Point and Hunters Point Shipyard and a new football stadium for the San Francisco 49ers. The two waterfront communities would include market-rate and low-income housing, retail, entertainment and office space.
A total of 9,000 new homes would be built according to the plans along with an 8,000- to 12,000-seat performance venue and 700,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space. Two million square feet of commercial office space and 350 acres of parks and open space round out the developer's plans.
