Lennar is helping the Bayview-Hunters Point economy by creating employment opportunities and hiring businesses to work on the revitalization of the Hunters Point Shipyard.
Contracts awarded to local contractors, including minority and women-owned businesses, are helping to create economic opportunities for residents to get good-paying jobs and to improve the skills needed to succeed now and in the future.
Employment Opportunities in Construction
Lennar Urban does not do direct hiring of construction related employees. Those workers are hired by the General Contractor and the Sub-Contractors. Each construction contractor has a ‘good faith goal’ to the following hiring goals:
25% minority participation in each trade
7% female participation in each trade
50% San Francisco resident participation in each trade with first consideration given to residents of the BVHP area, then all other San Francisco residents.
All construction contractors will use City Build to recruit new employees to meet the stated hiring goals. If you are interested in a career in construction contact Young Community Developers at (415) 822-3491 and speak to the Education & Employment Specialist for training and/or a referral to City Build.
Professional Service Contracts
All professional service contracting opportunities will be posted on this website and on the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency’s (sfredevelopment.org) website. Lennar Urban has a ‘good faith goal’ to award 50% of professional service contracts to Small Business Enterprises. First consideration is given to BVHP SBEs, second to San Francisco based SBEs and then to all others.
